Passing of Gregory Stuart Park #1497
As with all of our fan outs, please do not repost on any Social Media Site as personal information is contained within. Thank you.
Sadly, our friend and brother, Greg Park, passed away in the early hours of June 15, 2024 of an apparent heart attack at 73 years of age. Greg joined CPS in 1971 with class number 46. He was appointed Class Monitor as he was one of the senior recruits. Greg started out walking the beat and ultimately worked in 1 District. As a Constable in 1974, Greg became a member of the newly formed TAC Team and returned to the TAC Team as a Sergeant in 1984. In 1974 Greg worked in NCIIU and after being promoted to Detective he was transferred to 6 GIU. From there, he was one of the original members of the Strike Force Unit in 1979. Greg also spent time as a District Sergeant in 4 District and was a member of the Biker Task Force Unit.
Greg’s smile and laughter, his robust personality and his kindness is etched in all of our memories who were privileged to know him. Greg was the kind of Copper that Recruits today should aspire to. He will indeed be missed.
Greg leaves behind a daughter, Jennifer Park and a son, Geoffrey Park, his mother, Joyce Park and four grandchildren. If you would like to send words of support and condolence, please email Vince Caleffi at: caleffivince@gmail.com Vince will make sure they are passed on to Greg’s family.
When funeral plans are confirmed, I will let you all know.
Thanks to Vince Caleffi for his assistance with the family as well as sharing his knowledge of Greg’s career with me.
